Parapet walls are usually finished/textured with river sand and or synthetic stucco texture as the rest of the home. Being residents of the Old Pueblo we are no stranger to our famous monsoon season. Although this rainy season can bring some of the most beautiful sunsets and overall provide a nice break from the summer heat, it also brings some of the heaviest microburst known to the southwest region of the United States. A microburst can cause 100mph+ wind gusts, which is equivalent to an F-1 Tornado, in addition to heavy rainfall and 1” or greater size hail. When combined, all three catalysts can cause severe damage to your roof and home/property. In 2018 alone there were more than 50 locations that were hit with hail 1 inch in diameter or larger. This size hail can cause damage to roofs that can lead to accelerated aging and if left unrepaired may cause more serious problems such as leaking. With a shingle roof, the hail damage can be spotted by indentions or fractures to the shingle that aren’t visible from the ground. These indentations can cause granule loss which exposes the asphalt coating directly to the elements causing accelerated aging.
Being in the construction industry for over 15+ years we are able to be proactive vs reactive by being able to identify construction /roofing discrepancies and help resolve the areas before they ever become a concern/issue.
